Maybe "Ferber" works!

So, the doctor told me to continue feeding Gavin when he wakes up in the middle of the night since he isn't gaining much weight. But, I told her I was concerned we were creating a vicious cycle of me nursing him to sleep. So, she said I could let him cry himself back to sleep if he wakes up after eating. I've been reading Ferber's sleep book and decided to try the "cry it out" method. Last night, he cried for 30 minutes total, with me going in at increased intervals of time. But...ready for this? He slept for 6 1/2 HOURS!!! He hasn't had a stretch that long since he was probably 2 or 3 months old!!! I admit...I woke up and saw 2:30 on the alarm clock and I rushed in to make sure he was ok.

Tonight wasn't as good...but we're getting there. He didn't cry at all when I first put him down, but he woke up an hour and a half later. He cried for 20 minutes, slept for 20 minutes, cried some more...then I finally gave in and fed him again. When I put him down, he woke up crying, but that only lasted about 10 minutes before he was back to sleep. I'm wondering how long it will last this time. I'm headed to bed now...have to take advantage of this time while I can!

I LOVE that picture of Gav to the left! The "Our Sunshine" one, hahaha. Also, The black and white picture of him in the dryer, although disturbing, is also adorable and my new computer background. Lastly, the pic of him looking down at his band-aid looks just like you when you were little....

Love You!
